Commercial radio reaches 12.4 million weekly listeners in Australia
There’s nothing like a proof-of-concept to bring a smile to a product/services provider and the client.
Not long after Hispanic Broadcasting’s KYST(AM) had been outfitted with Radio.Cloud’s cloud-based remote operation backbone than the Houston-area station was hit by Hurricane Beryl. While much of the area temporarily lost power, KYST’s transmitter site did not so the cloud-based program feed stayed up allowing the station to provide live coverage and information to listeners.
The Hispanic Broadcasting’s offices lost power and Owner Matt Velasquez’s home did as well but he replied, “We never lost power at the transmitter site, and we were one of two news/talk stations in Houston to never go off air. A big help to that is definitely Radio.Cloud being at the transmitter site.”
Radio.Cloud Account Director Andrew Scaglione said, “I’m glad that our approach of empowering stations to reduce their hardware footprint, while still having access to all content in a web browser and playout at the transmitter site, helped our client Matt and Patriot Talk 920 stay on air to serve their listeners in this time of need.”
