PodX Group plans to acquire a majority stake in Lemonada Media, marking its first entry into the U.S. market. The Stockholm-based podcast company describes the move as a step toward creating an international podcast group.
Lemonada Media, founded in 2019, is one of the top three independent podcast networks in the United States in terms of revenue and audience. The company reported significant audience and revenue growth last year. Its slate includes “Wiser Than Me” with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, “Fail Better” with David Duchovny, and “Confessions of a Female Founder” with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. To date, the network has launched more than 50 original titles and nearly 40 partner shows.
Patrick Svensk, CEO of PodX Group, said, “This is a landmark transaction, once completed, and will take both PodX and Lemonada into an even greater trajectory. Lemonada has built an extraordinary podcast network with talent and stories that resonate deeply with listeners.”
Lemonada Media’s founders, CEO Jessica Cordova Kramer and Chief Creative Officer Stephanie Wittels Wachs, said the move would open a new chapter for the company. “When the deal is done, we will be PodX’s first U.S. partner, and we’re proud to bring our authentic storytelling approach to the existing global family and thrilled about the possibilities that lie ahead.”
PodX Group has acquired several production companies, including Nouvelles Écoutes and Studio Minuit in France, Posta in Argentina, Oronda Studio in Mexico, and Goldhawk Productions, Listen and Platform Media in the U.K.
Once the deal is finalized, Lemonada Media will continue to operate under its current leadership, team and brand, while drawing on PodX Group’s strategic backing and international network.
