Xperi data puts “Thriller” atop U.S. in-car Halloween listening
MNM radio presenter Sander Gillis has completed over 176 hours in a studio without daylight or a clock, and therefore any sense of time. After two previous successes of “Sander tegen de tijd” (“Sander against the clock”) in the MNM main studio, the Belgian presenter took on the challenge for a third time, broadcasting from a mobile studio on the Grote Markt, Sint-Niklaas’ central market square.
Gillis also extended the attempt by three days. The switch to standard time during the attempt added another test for his body clock.
Aiming to complete the attempt at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, he left the mobile studio at 4.22 p.m., with his time estimate off by just 22 minutes.

During the week, listeners and guests tried to mislead him and make him lose track of time. Forty-two guests visited the studio, including the band Bazart, who performed an acoustic set on the studio’s roof. Gillis misjudged the time 287 times during the challenge.
“It was crazy all over,” Gillis said. “I’d like to thank MNM and the whole team for making this happen with me!”
