U.K. loudspeaker manufacturer PMC has put into place a formal board structure, strengthening its corporate structure for future expansion. Owner and cofounder Peter Thomas will now act as chairman on the board. Former group finance director Jeff Willcocks was named CEO.
“PMC is expanding fast and it is not feasible to expect one person to have intimate knowledge of every aspect of the business,” said Peter Thomas. “Having a formal board of directors allows us to tap into the huge pool of expertise that already exists within the company, and across many different areas of our operation.”
Prior to joining PMC in 2018, Willcocks held positions as managing director, non-executive firector, finance director and president of a U.S.-based business. As CEO, he is now responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the company and will use his experience to work with all company stakeholders, including customers and suppliers, to develop and improve overall performance.
Thomas’ son, Oliver Thomas, also joins the board. Overseeing new product design for the last seven years, he is now taking on the wider role of commercial director, tasked with developing strong links between PMC products and the market. In recent months, he has been the driving force behind the new PMC Studio London, said the company. In his new role, he will continue to oversee new product development and further the technological advances in loudspeaker design.
Tom Loader, son of PMC’s cofounder Adrian Loader, will be serve as operations director. He will supervise PMC’s U.K. manufacturing base, which expanded in October 2020 with the opening of a second factory in Bedfordshire. The plant is dedicated to production of PMC’s recently introduced CI monitor series.
