NOA GmbH will be attending CABSAT at the World Trade Centre in Dubai, May 17–19, in booth A7-11. According to Jean-Christophe Kummer, NOA’s managing partner, this is an increasingly important event for the AV digitizing and archiving specialist — it has just renewed a multi-year service and maintenance contract with Sharjah Media Corporation and signed a second large archive installation in the region.
The contract is with United Arab Emirates-based public service broadcaster and media company Abu Dhabi Media to digitize the organization’s entire national archive, including but not limited to 32 channels of video digitization and 16 channels of parallel audio.
Kummer and two of his colleagues, Manuel Corn and Bruno Burtre, will meet various clients and continue conversations about large projects with new clients. The company will also illustrate examples of previous digitization projects in the region and elsewhere, including that of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, where it assisted in streamlining the organization’s AV archiving workflow.
In addition, NOA will showcase its recently developed tools to automate and simplify the process of digitization, storage and retrieval of media content, as well as appropriate metadata annotation and management.
“Sustainable long-term preservation of media content is paramount for today’s media houses to ensure the availability of valuable audio and video content now and in the future,” says Kummer. “The region’s media industry is evolving, and we intend to accompany them with the entire process, facilitating their long-term digitization strategies.”
