Nautel is planning a little surprise for the NAB Show — something involving visual radio.
Partnering digital content services provider Quu, the transmitter maker is helping bringing visual radio features to broadcast radio.
A Nautel press release calls it the “first integrated Visual Radio Air Chain.” It works with Nautel’s Software-Based Air Chain and will allow “radio broadcasters to effortlessly synchronize on-screen visuals with their audio content, enhancing listener engagement and unlocking new revenue opportunities,” the release adds.
Nautel Users Group attendees will get a special tutorial at 1:15–2 p.m. on April 6 at The Flamingo. It’s not too late to register for the NUG.
There is also planned live demonstration scheduled at Nautel’s booth, W2809. “This hands-on demo will showcase real-time implementation of station logos, album art, advertiser graphics, and metadata synchronization, offering an interactive look at how radio stations can ‘own the dashboard’ in today’s competitive in-car audio space,” the announcement says. Radio.Cloud and WideOrbit are participating in the booth demonstrations.
There will also be an industry reception on April 7, with HD Radio’s Xperi joining Quu and Nautel at the Nautel booth, 4 p.m.
Nautel Chief Technology Officer Philipp Schmid said, “Radio broadcasters have a unique opportunity to enhance their presence in the modern car dashboard, and Nautel is committed to making it easier than ever to implement visual metadata. Our collaboration with Quu ensures that every station, whether AM or FM, can deliver an engaging visual experience that strengthens listener loyalty and advertiser value.”
Quu CEO Steve Newberry added, “The Visual Radio Air Chain is about keeping broadcasters competitive in today’s digital world. By working with Nautel and our industry partners, we’re empowering stations with easy to use solutions to create captivating, revenue-generating dashboard experiences that drive audience engagement.”
