Nautel is extending the power of its VX FM transmitter line and IBC attendees will get the first look at them.
The VX8 and VX10 are powered for 8 kW and 10 kW respectively.
The boxes are rackmounted and feature a “modular design separates the transmitter into an exciter/controller, splitter/combiner, and two amplifiers, so each assembly can be installed and serviced individually rather than as a single heavy transmitter chassis. With the amplifier power supplies removed, no individual assembly weighs more than 22.7 kilograms/50 pounds.”
Built on the established VX platform, VX8 and VX10 also includes features such as solderless, replaceable power amplifier pallets; front-access washable filters; direct-to-channel digital exciter; RDS, SNMP, presets; Nautel AUI software interface; built-in audio playback and playlists; ICEcast, Shoutcast and HLS streaming inputs selectable as primary or backup with automatic switchover; and optional Orban Inside audio processing.
Nautel’s head of Marketing and Product Strategy John Whyte said, “Our VX Series has been enthusiastically received, with more than 1,500 shipped. The line’s simplicity, serviceability, and reliability are now extended to higher power levels, meeting customer demand for models at 8 and 10 kW with a modular design.”
Nautel can be found at IBC Stand 8.D70.
