Kenyan radio station Nation FM, part of the Nation Media Group, has upgraded its main broadcast studio with the AEQ Forum IP Split digital console. According to the company’s technical management, the decision was driven by the console’s ease of use, robust operation and high audio quality.
Nation FM, founded in 2002 as Easy FM and rebranded in 2019, broadcasts in English nationwide and offers news, sports and music programming. Its central studios are in Nairobi, and repeaters are in major cities. The station also streams online via its website.
The AEQ Forum IP Split console, designed for on-air broadcast control, offers features like automatic monitor cut, fader start and external communications management. Its modular design allows it to adapt to various configurations, from self-control to integration in large facilities. The console supports AoIP multi-channel connectivity via Dante technology, is AES67-compliant, and offers optional MADI connectivity and internal digital telephone hybrids.
Nation FM says the installation is part of its commitment to maintaining high technical standards for its nationwide audience.
