Music Production for Women, a United Kingdom-based education organization focused on supporting female and non-binary creators in audio, says it is offering four scholarship places for its yearlong “Master Your Music” program. MPW says each scholarship provides more than US$10,000 in educational resources, co-funded by the Institute for Contemporary Music Performance and DistroKid, a United States-based digital music distribution service that delivers artists’ tracks to major streaming platforms worldwide.
The organization says recipients will gain access to weekly online masterclasses covering production, mixing, sound design, music marketing and other topics. Xylo Aria, founder of MPW, said, “It has been incredible to see the transformative impact of this scholarship on the lives of previous recipients, including providing opportunities to artists with disabilities and to those facing financial hardships.”
According to MPW, classes will be led by industry professionals, including U.K. MPG award-winning vocal producer Ramera Abraham, whose credits include Adele, Stormzy and Little Mix, and U.S.-based artist and producer Lillian Frances, who has performed alongside Sylvan Esso and Shakey Graves. The program also includes monthly group mentoring sessions and access to MPW’s online community, which it describes as safe and supportive.
The course is delivered remotely over one year, and applicants will need a laptop and headphones to participate. MPW says the scholarships are intended for individuals experiencing financial hardship who would otherwise be unable to enroll.
Applications close at midnight GMT on Dec. 5.
