Unless you’ve been living under a rock, one that has banned information about equipment maker Lawo, you’ll have heard the company’s pitch on its latest technological push, the Home apps. These wide-ranging production/management apps are media-,platform- and mission-agnostic. According to Lawo: “Designed for professionals in performing arts venues, stadiums, arenas, corporate broadcast applications, houses of worship, and educational institutions, Lawo’s unified and open platform delivers exceptional workflow efficiency, operational flexibility, and security.”
Next stop — InfoComm in Orlando, Fla., June 7–13 at the Orange County Convention Center.

In Booth 5981, Lawo will be focusing on video apps. Home Commentary (shown) is a remote play-by-play and color commentary app.
In addition, debuting is the Home mc² crystal Controller (top) mixer hardware package aimed at, according to a release, “theaters, houses of worship, and live venues” though it looks like it would also be right at home with schools and larger radio broadcasters who have serious video appetites.
There will also be on-site the latest in Lawo’s Power Core apps for COTS servers for their mixers along with some of those mixers.
