Futuri has renamed its interactive programming platform Tether back to Listener Driven Radio. The change marks what the company describes as a renewed focus on its original mission — giving audiences more control over their listening experience.
Launched in 2010, LDR was an early platform enabling real-time audience engagement by letting listeners vote on songs and influence on-air playlists. It later evolved into Tether, but Futuri says the rebrand signals a return to the platform’s core intent: making live radio more participatory.
Futuri says LDR allows broadcasters to maintain their music strategy while incorporating crowdsourced voting through station websites or apps. Users can opt to receive alerts when selected tracks are about to play, and stations can customise the interface to match branding and sponsorships. LDR also integrates with audio imaging from Reelworld to support features like contest promos and intros.
Futuri confirmed that all current clients will continue to receive uninterrupted service.
