Based in Le Cannet, France, Pitchoun Médias is an independent audiovisual group, broadcasting content specifically for children and their parents. It offers programming mainly on two platforms — radio and TV — via web and DAB+.
Radio Pitchoun was launched in 2016, broadcasting on 102.1 FM in Côte d’Azur. DAB+ has helped the station grow nationally. Currently being deployed in 40 urban areas, Radio Pitchoun is mainly a musical program that also offers animated credits, nursery rhymes and lullabies. The programming is adapted to all age groups of listeners: toddlers, young children, pre-teens and adults nostalgic for their childhood.
The station recently expanded to DAB+ in the metropolitan areas of Calais and Toulon. This addition brings the number of transmitters broadcasting the first station for children in France to 15.
“DAB+ is the innovation that will drive the radio of tomorrow: better listening quality, wider reception, continuity of reception and access to all your program information visually,” said Laurent Brochet, founder and president of Pitchoun Médias.
Brochet explained that Radio Pitchoun is more than the 6 hours of new and daily edutainment programming. “Our hosts and columnists share with children and adults moments of discovery, learning, knowledge and openness to culture on a variety of subjects. It’s a program that helps children grow and learn while being entertained, and while reassuring parents.
