British digital radio solutions provider Factum Radioscape has announced the launch of its new MultiMuxa DAB system. The company says the software represents a major step forward in professional DAB encoding and multiplexing, offering simple and efficient operation for multiplex operators and service providers.
Factum Radioscape has worked closely with major broadcasters to develop the design and simplify the setup and management of DAB services. The introduction of service profiles and the ability to associate an individual service with multiple ensembles saves time and operational resources.
According to the company, MultiMuxa features the Dolby audio codec, ensuring a high-quality audio experience for listeners. The system also provides advanced redundancy for audio input and EDI output, automated switching, service linking, advanced FIC functions and an emergency warning system.
“MultiMuxa represents a significant milestone for the company and is an exciting addition to our product portfolio,” said James Waterson, sales manager for Factum Radioscape. “This system will provide operators with a superior user experience to manage their DAB services and deliver feature-rich content to their audiences.”
Several leading broadcasters have already adopted MultiMuxa, including SwissMediaCast in a virtualized environment for six ensembles, Greece’s ERT on a dedicated IPC, and many local services across the United Kingdom. Depending on the audio codec requirements, the system can operate on both Windows and Linux and is optimized for high-density deployments using containerization.
