Edison Research has announced the Top 25 Podcasts in the U.K. for Q3 2024, based on reach among weekly podcast listeners aged 15 and older.
The top three podcasts this quarter are:
- “The Joe Rogan Experience”
- “The Rest is Politics” (up two places)
- “The Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett” (down one place)
For the first time, “The Rest is Politics” has broken into the top three, potentially boosted by discussions surrounding the U.S. presidential campaign and the aftermath of the 2024 U.K. general election. The podcast gained significant traction following a live tour launched in September. The tour began in Cambridge and Oxford and culminated in an October performance at London’s Royal Albert Hall, where a live orchestra performed the works of Mozart and Beethoven. Tickets for the event sold out as early as May.
Other notable movements in the Top 25 include “The Rest is Football” climbing four places to No. 4, while “Sh**ged, Married, Annoyed” dropped two places to No. 5.
Edison Podcast Metrics is not dependent on podcast download data and does not require podcast networks to opt into its service. At least 2,000 weekly podcast listeners in the U.K. are surveyed each quarter for the service, and listening behavior is collected regardless of the listening platform. The same methodology is employed in the U.K. as in the U.S.
