
The DRM Consortium general assembly is this week in Dubai at the Radisson Blu Hotel, May 16–17. The gathering follows the CabSat show.
DRM Consortium Chairman Ruxandra Obreja said, “This annual meeting comes at a crucial moment when we see DRM developments of note in Asia and Africa, the rest of the world. We have more members and more projects than ever before, all aimed to progress the take-up and roll out of the open DRM digital standard for all. It is an exciting time, and we are inviting all to join us on this important journey.”
Besides the usual association business presentations and discussions will include “the latest updates on key markets like China, India, Indonesia, South Africa, Nepal and other countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe,” according to a release.
There will also be news on various DRM projects, their status and in some cases, completion.
The release adds, “Key speakers from the U.S. and the Middle East, Ms. Madeleine Noland, president of the Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) and Mr. Stefano Fallaha, CEO and founder of Podeo, a media company based in the Middle East will also address the assembly.”
