D&R has upgraded its Airence-USB broadcast console. Among other upgrades, the company has redesigned the power supply for an even smoother and lower noise floor.
The Airence-USB is one of the company’s most successful products. The main unit features six faders, four mic inputs, six line inputs, two built-in telephone modules (either for analog landlines, VoIP, or a combination of both) and four USB inputs for playout systems, without needing an audio card.
A built-in control section, based on the USB HID protocol, allows users to control music and jingles from playout software directly. The Airence is compatible with many brands of playout software, and is also programmable to use the keyboard shortcuts of most playout software brands.
However, upgrading any product can introduce compatibility issues with older models, and the Airence-USB upgrade is no different. The company points out that new extenders may not be compatible with older main units.
