Beasley Media Group has announced that Mix 99.5 WJBR in Wilmington, Delaware, has moved to 95.7 HD2. The official switch to HD broadcast took place on Thursday, Oct. 5.
Beasley Media Group recently sold the 99.5FM frequency and associated transmitting equipment to conservative Christian ministry radio network VCY America but retained all other WJBR intellectual property assets.
Playing “your mix from the 80s to now”, the all music format will continue on other digital formats: online at wjbr.com and on the station’s mobile app and selected smart speakers. The announcement said listeners will still be able to enjoy local news online content for the State of Delaware and the entire Delaware and Brandywine Valleys.
There have been significant staff changes. Morning hosts Deanna Marie and Justin Franiak and midday host Mike Rossi are no longer with the station. Franiak continues at Philadelphia country-formatted WXTU on weekends. According to a spokesperson for Beasley Media Group, Eric Johnson remains program director.
“We saw huge audience increases in 2023 and wanted to still be there for our loyal listeners,” said Johnson. “We will continue to keep this brand, which has been loved by the community for the past 66 years, going on these digital platforms. Listeners will be able to enjoy our fun, unique, feel-good ‘80s to now’ mix and, during the holidays, with our legendary Christmas music format!”
