A new AV distributor in South Africa is aiming to help broadcasters make the switch to digital infrastructures by exploiting a range of value-added extras.
AV Worx says it has a different approach to working with clients, with CEO and founder Anton van Wyk helping broadcasters adapt to new technologies by working closely with manufacturers’ R&D departments.
“AV Worx has decades of experience in consulting, design, pre-sales, schematics, commissioning, training and support services, all of which can be done on-site or remotely,” says van Wyk. “In this way we add more value than a standard box-moving distributor.”
Van Wyk began his career as a sound engineer in 1997. He spent 10 years at Omega Digital where he was manager of its projects division before spending 10 years at broadcast audio specialists Wild & Marr where he was technical director.
More recently he has helped multiple community radio stations stay connected by upgrading to IP technology, managing the supply of cutting-edge IP equipment and providing network design, technical support, commissioning, training and remote support during Covid.
