
Commercial Radio & Audio and Triton Digital have released the latest Australian Podcast Ranker, reporting a record-breaking average weekly listenership of 6.9 million in February. CRA says the surge reflects a growing roster of participating publishers and the increasing demand for on-demand audio content.
“The Mel Robbins Podcast” led the charts with 1.77 million monthly listeners, followed by “ABC News Top Stories” with 868,475 listeners. “Mamamia Out Loud,” “Shameless” and “It’s A Lot with Abbie Chatfield” rounded out the top five.
Society & culture remained the dominant genre, attracting more than 5 million listeners. News followed closely, with true crime, comedy and sports also drawing substantial audiences.
ARN/iHeart secured the top spot among publishers, reaching over 4.4 million listeners, while SiriusXM Podcast Network followed with nearly 3.9 million. LiSTNR (SCA), the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and News Corp Australia completed the top five.
LiSTNR (SCA) led the rankings for podcast sales representatives, with a combined audience of 8.4 million monthly listeners across multiple publishers, including SiriusXM Podcast Network, Wondery and NBCUniversal News Group. ARN/iHeart followed with 7.1 million listeners, representing brands such as iHeartMedia, Audioboom, BBC and TED. NOVA Entertainment, News Corp Australia and Mamamia also secured positions in the top five.
