Berlin-based startup ai|coustics, which focuses on improving speech quality and intelligibility in audio communication and content creation using generative audio AI algorithms, has officially released its API. This release aims to enhance workflows for broadcasting agencies, podcast production houses, media production companies and filmmaking agencies. The API launch follows the successful debut of ai|coustics’ web app in May 2024, designed for digital content creators, podcasters and audiobook readers.
The ai|coustics API provides enhanced control and customizable settings that surpass the capabilities of the web app. It includes features such as transcoding of file formats, allowing seamless conversion of audio files from WAV to MP3, simplifying post-production workflows and ensuring compatibility across various platforms. Additionally, the API offers loudness adjustment to optimize audio recordings to meet the specific requirements of platforms like Spotify and YouTube, ensuring consistent and high-quality sound.
The power of simplicity
The initial release features a REST-API that can be integrated into any supporting language, offering versatility for developers. It includes simple API-key based authentication and a single API call for voice enhancement.

With our Speech Enhancement API, we’ve made advanced audio processing as simple as it should be to facilitate modern content production,” said Corvin Jaedicke, CTO at ai|coustics. Jaedicke also noted that future updates would include Zapier integration, enabling production houses to connect multiple web-based services like Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive with no-code audio enhancement automation.
ai|coustics says it is committed to providing comprehensive support and documentation to help users maximize the API’s benefits. The company emphasizes data security, using end-to-end encryption for all transmissions and adhering to strict data protection regulations. Audio data is deleted after 24 hours, and user-uploaded data is not used to train machine learning models. All servers are hosted within the European Union to ensure compliance with stringent data protection regulations.
