WorldDAB
and the European Broadcasting Union partnered to present “DAB+ at the heart of hybrid,” a webinar focusing on DAB+ and hybrid radio in the car. The two-hour webinar streamed live on March 10 and was recorded for future viewing on WorldDAB’s YouTube channel.
Jacqueline Bierhorst, vice president of WorldDAB and project director of Digital Radio NL hosted the event. Presenters shared their insights on how broadcasters can keep radio strong in the car, with DAB+ at the heart of the hybrid radio experience.
Ben Poor opened the virtual presentations by speaking about EBU and its work with DAB and hybrid radio. Nick Piggott (RadioDNS), Laurence Harrison and Andrea Heidrich (Radioplayer), Joe D’Angelo (Xperi), Cas Adriani (Pluxbox) and Xavier Filliol (Radioline) each spoke about how their technologies are supporting hybrid radio in the car.
The webinar ended with a panel discussion, moderated by Elisha Sessions, chairman of the Connected Cars and Devices Group at EBU and distribution manager of Digital Partnerships, BBC Distribution & Business Development.
