A new podcast, “Discover Carro and the Val di Vara,” showcases the nature, history and culture of Carro, a small village in Liguria, Italy, and its surrounding region. Produced by Capitale Cultura Group and AT Media, with support from RLV La Radio a Colori, the eight-episode series is part of the revitalization efforts funded by Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and part of a broader strategy to elevate Carro’s identity as “Paganini’s village” and attract sustainable tourism.
The series dives into Carro’s rich heritage, from the ancient Ligurian civilization and medieval castles to the family roots of renowned violinist Niccolò Paganini. Episodes highlight local traditions, cuisine, outdoor activities and cultural events, including the annual Paganiniano Festival — a tribute to Paganini, whose ancestors hailed from Carro. Modern elements of the revitalization project, such as augmented reality experiences and environmental art initiatives like “Boschi Sonori” (“Sounding Forests”), also feature prominently.
The podcast was produced under the “Carro Borgo di Paganini” project, a €1.6 million initiative funded by PNRR. The project’s goals include restoring Paganini’s ancestral home as the “Casa Paganini Experience,” enhancing the festival, creating a European Paganini cultural route and developing innovative tourism and educational initiatives.
The podcast is free to access in Italian and English, making it an inviting exploration for a global audience. It is accessible on the project’s website and major streaming platforms, including YouTube and Spotify.
