The organizers of The Webby Awards — an international award honoring excellence on the Internet — have introduced new and expanded podcast categories for the 29th Webby Awards in May 2025.
The podcast categories include Best Indie Podcast and global honors in Arts & Culture, Creativity and Marketing, News and Politics, Sports, and Business. Submissions in foreign languages are welcome.
Webby winners are selected based on excellence across specific criteria. Podcasts are judged on concept and writing, quality of craft, and overall experience. Other categories, such as websites, apps, video and immersive experiences, are evaluated for creativity, innovation, user engagement and technical execution.
The 28th Annual Webby Awards received nearly 13,000 entries from over 70 countries worldwide.
The Webbys remain open to all creators, from grassroots producers to established industry leaders, highlighting the evolving standards of internet excellence.
