KSJO adopts Radio.Cloud’s live studio for caller-intensive broadcasts

Silicon Valley Asian Media Group has adopted Radio.Cloud’s playout studio and programming suite for its automation needs. The media group operates KSJO-FM/HD1 (Bolly 92.3), KSJO-HD2 (Virijallu FM), KSJO-HD3 (SaFire Radio), and KSJO-HD4 (High-Fi Dream).

All four stations are now using Radio.Cloud’s browser-based operating system, which allows live broadcasts from any location.

“We migrated our four channels to Radio.Cloud, moving away from the traditional broadcast studio setup,” said CEO Brad Behnke. “This shift allows us to scale quickly, providing live, locally produced content without the need for an expensive studio complex while offering the flexibility to broadcast live from anywhere.”

“Bolly 92.3 broadcasts live for several hours each day in a way no other station has,” said Radio.Cloud Founder and CEO Christian Brenner. “This operation runs entirely in a web browser, handling multiple live SIP calls with a call waiting feature, all driven by our live studio. With three mostly automated stations and one heavily live, KSJO is fully embracing the capabilities of our cloud platform.”

Cost-effective move

After KSJO transitioned to Radio.Cloud, the stations moved from their larger studio and engineering facility to a smaller, more cost-effective space in downtown San Jose, enabled by Radio.Cloud’s minimal hardware requirements.

“Radio.Cloud has transformed programming for me, and I believe it will do the same for the industry,” said KSJO Program Director Gregg Pirillo. “The ability to program from anywhere is a game-changer, and the access to a live studio for our hosts has been invaluable. Working with Radio.Cloud’s team has allowed us to tailor the system to our specific needs with more functionality than ever before. This is the future of radio, and we’re already there.”

Behnke added, “We plan to use Radio.Cloud as we scale our South Asian radio platform into 10–15 more U.S. markets in the near future.”
