Radio Moletsi, a regional community station in South Africa’s Limpopo province, has installed an AEQ Bravo audio console into a mobile broadcast unit.
Limpopo is a large province in the north of the country bordering Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, and it has a population of about 5 million. Due to the province’s size and relatively small population, that population is very dispersed. Radio Moletsi broadcasts from the provincial capital of Polokwane and decided the best way to bring the medium closer to the reality of the most remote communities was to build a mobile broadcast unit.
Buck Broadcast built the unit and said it recommended the AEQ BRAVO audio console as the heart of the system because, in addition to its technical features, it provided a compact, complete, very easy to operate and especially robust equipment to withstand the harsh conditions of working in remote and difficult to access locations.
AEQ Bravo is a popular choice for small broadcasters or professional broadcast-type applications with tight costs. It offers 12 analog inputs (four mic/line and eight dual stereo lines), two integrated telephone hybrids and four internal working buses for program, audition, CUE and interfacing. It has up to two external telephone lines, with a low-profile self-contained control surface and 12 working faders.
