Lawo powers new broadcast training studios at Edith Cowan University
Four figures from the radio sector are among the industry professionals who will be honored at the 2026 Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts awards organized by the Library of American Broadcasting Foundation. The event recognizes individuals whose work has contributed to the development of radio and television broadcasting in the United States.
The awards luncheon will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gotham Hall in New York City.
Among this year’s honorees with strong radio connections are Skip Finley, a radio station owner, operator and advisor known for supporting minority ownership in U.S. broadcasting; Jaime Jarrín, a National Baseball Hall of Fame broadcaster who spent decades as the Spanish-language radio voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers; Dave Santrella, CEO of Salem Media Group, a U.S. broadcaster that operates a large portfolio of talk and Christian radio stations; and Suzyn Waldman, a longtime radio broadcaster and color commentator for Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees.
During the ceremony, LABF will present its Excellence in Broadcast Preservation Award to the Museum of Broadcast and Communications. The foundation says the award recognizes organizations that promote the preservation and collection of broadcast history.
“The Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts Awards recognize the individuals whose work has defined eras and shaped the evolution of our industry,” LABF Co-Chairs Deborah Parenti and Dave “Chachi” Denes said in a statement.
The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation says it has honored more than 270 leaders in broadcasting since launching the awards in 2003. Proceeds from the event support the Library of American Broadcasting collection, curated at the University of Maryland, which preserves historical documents and archives related to the development of radio and television.
