The Library of American Broadcasting Foundation will recognize several prominent radio figures at its 2025 Giants of Broadcasting & Electronic Arts luncheon in New York on Nov. 14. The annual event highlights individuals who have made historic contributions to broadcasting.
Among the honorees is radio personality Rick Dees, known internationally for “Rick Dees Weekly Top 40,” as well as Dick Ferguson, former executive vice president of Cox Radio Group.
Also being honored is Gary Sandy, remembered by many in the industry for his portrayal of Andy Travis, the program director in the classic radio-themed sitcom “WKRP in Cincinnati.”
LABF will also present its Excellence in Broadcast Preservation Award to CBS News White House correspondent and former RTDNA chairman Steven Portnoy for his work in safeguarding the history of broadcast journalism.
The luncheon will take place at Gotham Hall in New York.
