
DAB digital radio platform group WorldDAB has announced plans for a workshop at the upcoming ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium 2025, Feb. 24–27, Kuala Lumpur, Indonesia.
Entitled “Innovations in implementing safety and efficiency,” the workshop will “Discover new developments from DAB+ technical experts, market representatives, and leaders in the radio industry,” according to the announcement. Broad theme details include exploring “DAB+ Automatic Safety Alert (ASA) delivering critical alerts during emergencies; DAB+ expansion in Asia, Africa and Europe; and DAB+ technical solutions optimizing cost and energy efficiency of broadcast radio.”
More specific details include “Driving the global growth of DAB+; Life-saving Automatic Safety Alerts and more: innovation with DAB+” plus technical looks at head end solutions, transmission on a budget, antenna systems and monitoring systems. In addition there will be examinations of DAB implementation in Thailand, Indonesia and Africa.
