UNESCO has selected RedTech to coordinate World Radio Day 2026, set to take place on Feb. 13, with the theme “Radio and Artificial Intelligence.” The event will explore how AI is reshaping radio — from content creation and automation to audience interaction, data protection and ethical considerations.
Established by UNESCO in 2011, World Radio Day is celebrated annually to recognize radio’s enduring power as a medium for information, connection and cultural exchange. It has since become a global event involving broadcasters, journalists and listeners in more than 170 countries.
RedTech Co-founder and Operations Director Philippe Chapot said, “Our goal is to mobilize more than 170 countries and over 1,000 radio stations to celebrate and benefit from free tools, resources and collaborative actions.”
RedTech is inviting two main groups to contribute: technology companies offering AI-driven solutions for the radio industry, from editorial and technical applications to monetization, and B2B media outlets willing to help raise awareness among broadcasters.
