The Radio Academy, a United Kingdom-based radio industry association, has announced an upcoming training and hobnobbing event.
Called “Foot in the Door,” the announcement explains it is “a one-day event for people at entry and early career level in audio, to build skills development and open access to people and expertise, through training workshops and a facilitated speed-networking session.”
It will be held at the University of Glasgow, Feb. 28, starting at noon.
The event starts with a “three-hour program of training workshops and talks with national, regional and local audio industry leaders and practitioners.” Some topics to be covered will include, “sessions on program production, podcasting, social media, brand development, music radio, news and speech audio, imaging, and technology.”
It will be followed by 90-minute session of speed-networking. The dessert will be an informal social event led by the academy’s Scotland branch.
The Radio Academy pointed to sponsors All In Media/Xperi, Arqiva, BBC Sounds, Broadcast Bionics, MusicMaster/OnAir, PPL, PRS and RCS for making the event possible.
