Tech Focus: Inovonics has added several new features to its flagship FM Broadcast Processor, the DAVID IV 719N.
Now broadcasters can add Inovonics´ new 704 Dynamic RDS encoder as a complete bundled solution, giving broadcasters their sonic signature and a station’s “street name” displayed on a listener’s radio dial.
The DAVID IV is the fourth-generation processor in Inovonics´ DAVID series of FM and HD Radio air chain processors. Its streamlined, 100% DSP-based audio engine gives users total leverage over the most important sonic “signature” parameters, while smart controls allow you to enhance program material quickly and effectively. Processing includes five bands of dynamics compression with equalization, intelligent gain-riding AGC, bass and stereo field enhancements, and Inovonics’ proprietary PIPP (Polarity Independent Peak Processing) limiter.
The 704 Dynamic RDS encoder complements the 719N, providing an easy and reliable way to add dynamic RDS text messaging on a budget.
Broadcasters can also use the 719N’s processing power for HD Radio broadcasts by adding the optional drop-in accessory 719-01 HD Radio Delay Board, which enables up to 9.9 seconds of audio delay for the composite (MPX), analog or digital program line outputs.
