Saothair Capital Partners has completed the acquisition of broadcast technology company GatesAir through a newly formed affiliate. The U.S.-based private equity firm says the move will support GatesAir’s global expansion and accelerate its technological innovation.
Founded in 1922, GatesAir designs, manufactures and installs wireless, over-the-air content delivery and public safety communications equipment. Its products enable broadcasters to create, transport and transmit radio and television content. The company is headquartered in Mason, Ohio, with manufacturing facilities in Quincy, Illinois, and Brescia, Italy. Barbara Spicek will continue to serve as president and CEO.
Partnership for expansion
Kevin Madden, co-founder and managing partner of Saothair, said the firm sees GatesAir as “a strong and enduring presence in the global broadcast industry, built on a century of innovation and reliability.” He added that Saothair aims to work with Spicek’s team to scale the business, expand its geographic footprint and develop its portfolio of broadcast and communications solutions.
