Orban is the latest addition to the growing list of IBC2021 exhibitors to withdraw from this year’s show.
“We have made the difficult decision not to attend IBC2021 in Amsterdam for the first time since the show moved to the Netherlands in 1992,” the company said in a statement.
“We are disappointed for our customers, dealers, and our staff but we have a responsibility to protect the health of our colleagues and their families during this extremely challenging health situation.”
Peter Lee, senior vice president Global Sales of Orban Labs Inc. and Orban Europe GmbH, added that the company was looking forward to spending time in person with its partners but the resurgence of the pandemic left them with no other option than to withdraw their participation.
Nautel, DHD.audio, Blackmagic Design, Canon, Grass Valley, Irdeto and Telestream are among other companies that have announced they will not be exhibiting this year due to the health crisis.
IBC organizers said last week they would go ahead with the 2021 show at the RAI in Amsterdam, despite a three-week partial lockdown in the Netherlands that started on Nov. 13. The Netherlands government will revisit the restrictions on Dec. 3 — the day IBC2021 is due to start.
