Belgian French-language radio station Nostalgie began broadcasting selected programs on LN24, the country’s 24-hour French-language television news channel, on Monday, Aug. 24. Nostalgie has already aired its morning drive show, “La Nosta Family,” from 6–9 a.m. on television provider Proximus TV for two years. On LN24, the program is followed by “Mission NostaMan,” an hour of audience requests.
At weekends, François Campos presents “La Nosta Family Weekend,” followed by what the station describes as Belgium’s first karaoke television show, “Une Furieuse envie de chanter.” Laury Tellier hosts the program from 9–10 a.m. The arrangement gives Nostalgie an additional television outlet for its presenters, music and audience-led programming.
Thibaut Roland, program director at LN24, pointed to a natural connection between the two broadcasters. “LN24 is a talk station, but it also offers memorable television series. In this context, the link with Nostalgie has grown organically,” he said. “We’re proud to broadcast Nostalgie, the leading station among the French-speaking community, on television. The ‘N’ in LN24 now stands for both ‘news’ and ‘Nostalgie.’”
LN24 viewers can now watch “La Nosta Family” presenters Olivier Duroy and Isabelle Verjans alongside the station’s other programs. Jean-François Pottier, program director at Nostalgie, noted that the partnership allows viewers to see the interaction behind the morning show. “Our presence on LN24 allows us to extend the ‘Nostalgie feeling.’ People get to see what makes our morning drive show so appealing — the chemistry, humor and, of course, the excellent music selection,” he said. “It’s also an opportunity to discover other Nostalgie radio shows on television, such as ‘Mission NostaMan’ and ‘Une Furieuse envie de chanter.’ Radio consumption has diversified considerably, and today, nearly 10% of the audience listens to or watches radio on television. We therefore want to strengthen our presence on that medium and be where the audience wants to find us.”
