Médiamétrie reports decline in radio listening in French Guiana
The National Association of Broadcasters is using the new year to roll out a look back at its efforts in 2025.
The U.S. broadcast industry advocacy group has built its own 2025 review website, “2025 NAB Year in Review,” at its main website.
Familiar endeavors include the push for favorable legislation such as mandating that all new cars have an AM-compatible radio; preventing a requirement that radio stations pay royalties for songs played on the air, which the NAB considers a “performance tax;” and the group’s work to corral the rampaging bull of streaming when it comes to airing sports events. But the trending interest in 2025 was a push for reforming radio and TV station ownership rules and restrictions in an age of a rapidly changing media ecosystem.
The broadcasters association recounts its advocacy efforts along with other highlights such as its broadcast leadership training work, employment postings, journalism and, of course, its industry shows, especially the big one in April in Las Vegas. Plus it offers some information on the economic benefits generated by the broadcast industry.
There’s even more at the website.
