In the latest “2 Mins of Tech” video from IBC2026 in Amsterdam, Liam Burke, commercial director at Broadcast Radio, demonstrates the listener engagement tools in Myriad Playout 7. The radio playout and automation system made its show debut at IBC.
A listener can search for a song through the station’s app, add a name and message, then send the request directly into the studio workflow. The presenter sees the song and message together, along with a warning if the station has played that track or artist recently.
The presenter can drag the request into the log, where Myriad adds the accompanying message as a script item, or approve it to replace the next track marked as eligible. Music scheduling rules retain priority, so a request that would create an unwanted repeat remains in the queue until it can play.
