CRA unveils ‘Audio x Mixed Media Modeling’ session at Heard 2025
If further proof of the global spread of IP audio technology is needed look no further than the Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services. Based in Eswatini, formerly known as Swaziland, and situated at the far end of southern Africa, the broadcaster has installed a Lawo AoIP system topped with new Lawo diamond modular radio broadcast consoles.
A release provides details, “Equipped with Lawo’s Power Core mixing engines, which provide expandable I/O connectivity including AES67, MADI, analog, AES3, and Dante, the diamond consoles offer Radio Eswatini a highly adaptable solution that will support the station’s growth in the years to come. The next phase of the modernization includes installing a centralized IP router, which will unify workflows across EBIS’s network and enable seamless content sharing between facilities.”
Mabandla Bhembe, an EBIS presenter, commented, “The diamond is incredibly intuitive. You can work quickly and comfortably — it becomes second nature in no time. The quality of the controls is obvious, from the smooth faders to the responsive buttons.”
Several EBIS personnel went to Lawo’s offices in Germany for training. Integrator Broadcast & Installation Engineering of Johannesburg provided equipment and services.
