Lawo has expanded its HOME Apps platform with a suite of new software tools designed to help radio broadcasters and audio content producers streamline production workflows and maximize infrastructure use. The company introduced the lineup during a recent online event, now available on demand here.
Among the releases are three HOME Apps featuring Lawo’s new browser-based Workspace interface and a virtualized version of its Power Core engine for radio applications. All run on standard servers and support either subscription-based or perpetual licensing.
Workspace Apps extend HOME platform for remote and mobile production
Lawo’s new Workspace UI allows users to operate broadcast-grade tools on a phone, tablet or desktop browser. The HTML5 interface can host multiple apps within the same workspace, giving users a single view across various elements of a live or remote production setup.
Three HOME Apps now support the Workspace interface:
- HOME Commentary — Designed for off-tube and on-site commentary, this app lets commentators monitor up to two video streams, contribute audio and video, and interact with producers using a built-in talkback feature. A built-in audio engine enables local mixing and low-latency monitoring, while engineers can offer remote support through the same UI.
- HOME Video Monitor — A portable solution for low-latency audio and video monitoring, this app supports one to nine video streams and is accessible from laptops, mobile devices and AR headsets.
- HOME mc² crystal Controller — Built for environments where compact crystal consoles support larger mc² systems, this app adds extended metering and touchscreen controls. It can display real-time audio meters and project-related video feeds.

Phil Myers, Lawo’s chief technology officer, said the new interface supports “broadcast-grade contribution and monitoring tools” across mobile and fixed setups without compromising performance or security.
Virtualised Power Core expands Lawo’s offering for radio
The new HOME Power Core App virtualizes Lawo’s physical Power Core unit, offering radio broadcasters a software-based DSP engine with mixing, routing and monitoring capabilities. It supports diamond, crystal and crystal Clear consoles and integrates with formats including Ravenna/AES67, Dante, ST2110, SRT and NDI.

Users can deploy the app on local servers or in the cloud, with options to scale performance based on available CPU power. It supports all network-connected I/O sources, including .edge devices and Lawo Virtual Sound Cards.
“The HOME Power Core app has been designed to meet and exceed the requirements of content producers who wish to completely virtualize their radio and TV workflows,” said Christian Struck, senior product manager of audio infrastructure.
Availability and other updates
The HOME Power Core App and the three Workspace-enabled apps — HOME Commentary, HOME Video Monitor and HOME mc² crystal Controller — are scheduled for release in Q4 2025.
At the online event, Lawo also announced the upcoming release of the HOME Intelligent Multiviewer, a software-based tool for efficient multiview video monitoring. Designed for ST2110, SRT and NDI workflows, it is scheduled for release in Q2.
Lawo will be at the 2025 NAB Show at booth N623.
