The Italian Ministry of Business and Made in Italy has approved a proposal by Aeranti-Corallo, the association representing Italian local private radio and television broadcasters, to issue a postage stamp commemorating the 50th anniversary of a judicial decision dismantling the federal government broadcast monopoly.
The announcement release from Aeranti-Corallo said, “This stamp will be issued on July 28, 2026, 50 years after Ruling No. 202 of July 28, 1976, by which the Constitutional Court declared the state monopoly on local wireless broadcasting unlawful. This decision paved the way for the emergence of local radio and television stations, marking a turning point in the history of communication and Italian democracy.”
The stamp is an addition to The Excellences of Italian Cultural Heritage series.
