Inovonics is helping with audio processing for a new community radio station in the tribal Narmada district of India. FM 90 Radio Unity is part of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi´s long-term vision for India to promote the empowerment of tribal youth. The Inovonics 719N DAVID IV FM Broadcast Processor is part of the technical heart of the new station.
Such a choice is important, given the station’s significance. Radio Unity was launched as part of India´s 75th Independence Day and is near the Statue of Unity, dedicated to Sardar Patel, the architect of independent India. The statue is the tallest in the world at 182 meters (582 ft), almost twice that of the Statue of Liberty.
“It is very gratifying to play a part in the launch of FM 90 Radio Unity with our audio processing technology,” said Ben Barber, president and CEO of Inovonics, Inc., “we have worked hard to promote the Inovonics brand and gain the confidence of our partner Becil for integrating Inovonics broadcast products in their installations.”
For Khuswinder Singh Bhatia, assistant general manager at Becil, the launch of FM 90 Radio Unity is an example of a successful installation for community radio stations. “We have designed an excellent and affordable solution that can integrate with other community radio stations across India.”
