Inovonics has introduced the model 541, the firm’s fourth-generation FM modulation monitor. The company explained that the new 541 incorporates all the necessary features for station setup, regulatory compliance, and remote monitoring. The 5-inch colorful LCD touchscreen displays all the essential modulation data in a graphic format on the front panel or remotely on any web-enabled device. The 541 will debut publicly at the NAB Show 2023 in Las Vegas, April 15–19.
Inovonics says the 541 delivers a “wealth of information” about the transmitted signal regarding the RF carrier and all subcarriers, the audio component defining the technical quality that the listener hears, and the full decoding of RDS data and SCA audio.
The digital architecture of the 541 combines detailed DSP signal analysis with a menu-driven touchscreen display, plus webserver-based total access for remote operation, including measurements, graphical data and direct web-browser audio monitoring of the off-air program.
“In designing the 541, we leveraged our two years of experience developing the 551 and 552 HD modulation monitors launched in 2022,” said Ben Barber, president and CEO of Inovonics. The result is a complete and comprehensive FM modulation monitor. With the dynamic web interface that users can remotely access from any smartphone, tablet, or PC, and its SNMP capabilities, the 541 takes innovation to a new level.”
Inovonics has already placed 541 beta units with trusted radio engineers for testing to provide valuable feedback to help make final firmware tweaks before production units begin shipping.
