
Speaker maker Genelec is diving into immersive sound at the upcoming NAMM Show with plenty of demos and educational sessions on immersive sound formats notably Dolby Atmos and tools for creating and monitoring surround sound content. Naturally, they’ll be demonstrating all of this with Genelec speakers.
A number of well-known audio pros will be participating in the demonstrations.
Genelec’s demo setups will be at Booth 15500, North Level 1.

The acoustic configuration will consist of “Genelec 8361A with W371A woofer systems for L-C-R, four 8351Bs for surrounds and four 8341As for overheads, plus a 7380A subwoofer, all calibrated specifically for the room using GLM software.”
There will also be demo stations utilizing Genelec’s recently released 8550A headphones along with some other fun goodies which a release described as reflecting “a highly personal and truthful headphone monitoring experience.”
The NAMM Show will be at the Anaheim Convention Center, a stone’s throw from Disneyland, Jan. 23–25.
