Sennheiser Spectera sits at center of NEP Australia’s audio overhaul
Karahashi Deck, on the banks of the Seta River and connected to Japan’s largest freshwater lake, has installed Genelec 4000 Series loudspeakers in its La Cosso restaurant. The venue, operated by the Biwako Rowing Club, offers water sports, corporate training, and education, focusing on employing people with disabilities.
La Cosso, the newly opened café and restaurant, features six Genelec 4020 loudspeakers. The sound system aims to create a relaxing environment for all visitors. “La Cosso was designed to offer a space with a natural atmosphere so that everyone who visits automatically feels at ease,” said Shuichi Sakata, manager of Biwako Rowing Club. “Sound within the space was an important factor in helping customers relax.”
The Biwako Rowing Club collaborated with Neighbor Food Co. on the sound system’s design and implementation. Neighbor Food Co. recommended Genelec for its sound quality, size and design. The loudspeakers distribute music throughout the café, easily managed by staff using a Bluetooth-connected smartphone or tablet with a PreSonus StudioLive AR8c mixer. A PreSonus AudioBox GO USB interface can be used with a Mac or PC for special events.
Natural beauty
“Genelec’s loudspeakers have built-in amplifiers and Intelligent Signal Sensing technology that automatically turns on the power when music is played, making them convenient for daily use,” added Sakata. “The power will automatically turn off after a certain period, adding to their ease of use.”
The interior design of La Cosso reflects its natural surroundings, with a wood grain finish that harmonizes with the nearby Lake Biwa. Genelec loudspeakers in RAW aluminum finish were chosen to match the natural feel of the café. “The texture of recycled aluminum enclosures with a RAW finish was the best choice,” Sakata noted. “When we installed the loudspeakers, the staff were surprised at how well they matched the interiors. Genelec’s commitment to the natural environment aligns with our venue’s connection to nature.”
La Cosso restaurant at Karahashi Deck showcases Japan’s natural beauty and provides employment opportunities for people with disabilities. The Genelec 4020 loudspeakers help create a relaxing soundscape, supporting La Cosso’s mission to offer a comfortable space for everyone to learn and work.
