For those paying attention, Lawo’s April 8 presentation event has come and gone.
It was the launch of the Edge One, a powerful I/O box that acts as a portal into the Lawo IP media ecosystem.
It looks as if there are, perhaps only currently, three different “stageboxes” with varying I/O menus.
Here’s the Lawo description — “Available in three convenient packages (Audio, Video, and Audio + Video) for out-of-the-box utilization, Edge One offers: Up to 8x analog audio connectors (XLR) with Lawo-quality preamps; Up to 8x SDI connectors (micro HD-BNC, bidirectional); Up to 4x HDMI ports (two outputs, two inputs/outputs); 2x MADI ports with sample rate conversion as standard; USB-C port supporting four input and output audio channels; Copper, fiber and multi-gigabit streaming ports; GPI I/O port (2 in, 4 out); Native NMOS support.”
The boxes offer high-bandwidth audio and video traffic along with access to Lawo’s Home mixing, processing and routing system.
The company has created a video intro for the Edge One and they’ll be demonstrating it in Booth C2108 at the NAB Show.
