Summ’it aims to connect audiences through audio storytelling
Global sales of DAB and DAB+ receivers have reached 166.6 million units across 11 core markets, according to new figures released by WorldDAB during its Automotive 2026 event in Frankfurt.

WorldDAB said the total represents growth of more than 10% compared with the previous figures released in February 2025, reflecting continued expansion of digital radio adoption.
According to the organization, France and Italy were the fastest-growing large markets for DAB+ receivers. In France, DAB+ coverage has now reached 80% of the population.
The figures also underline the continued integration of digital radio into the automotive sector. WorldDAB said DAB+ is now fitted as standard in almost all new cars sold across Europe, with similar regulatory approaches being introduced in markets beyond Europe, including Saudi Arabia.
WorldDAB President Jacqueline Bierhorst welcomed the latest milestone during her keynote address at the event. “It is about confidence — because radio remains strong,” Bierhorst said.
