Advertising revenues continue to show steady growth in Australian metro markets
Audio-on-demand and podcast platform Acast has launched Poddnästet, a podcast competition in Sweden with a prize of a high-quality production and marketing package worth 250,000 Swedish Kroner (€25,000).
Acast is already behind some of Sweden’s most popular podcasts, including Wahlgren & Wistam, Brita & Parisa, Spöktimmen, and Rättegångspodden, and hopes, through this competition, to find new and aspiring talents that can take their place on the Swedish top list Poddindex.
Frida Klevemark, content director at Acast, said: “The winner will be chosen based on the originality of the podcast idea, tonality and quality of the creative idea. Our goal is to identify new creators and formats that have not yet taken the step into the audio sphere and where there’s potential to grow into the next big podcast sensation.”
The Poddnästet jury includes the Gothenburg-based comedy trio JLC (pictured), Jonas Fagerström, Lucas Simonsson and Carl Deman. Their show Mellan Himmel och Jord has grown to become one of Sweden’s most prominent commercial podcasts.
Co-host Lucas Simonsson said: “Now is the time for the Swedish population to show off their creativity. Think big and invest hard, but remember, there is only one Mellan Himmel och Jord podcast!”
Poddnästet is open to anyone based in Sweden over the age of 18. Participants can submit competition entries until October 29, 2021. The prize includes eight episodes produced and distributed by Acast, and content consulting by its professional content team and marketing of the winner’s podcast at launch.
