Comrex has launched FieldLink Cloud, a subscription service that connects its FieldLink sideline reporting codec to reporters over 4G, 5G and public Wi-Fi networks.
Introduced in 2025, FieldLink lets sideline reporters use smartphones and the free FieldTap app to send and receive audio through a directional wireless access point. FieldLink Cloud extends that connection beyond the local network. The Comrex-managed service is designed to simplify connections through routers and firewalls, with a browser-based interface for connection, control and status information on iOS and Android devices.
A separate FieldLink Studio upgrade enables the codec to connect back to the studio over the public internet. The release says it is compatible with all Comrex IP codecs and can run alongside connections for up to four sideline reporters.
For a limited time, customers who purchase a FieldLink codec will receive a one-year FieldLink Cloud subscription. The service can be activated from the codec’s front-panel OLED screen.
Comrex will demonstrate FieldLink at stand 445 during NAB Show New York, Oct. 21-22, at the Javits Center.
