The 17th edition of the Global Radio Guide — Winter 2021–22 is out, and the cover story is the People’s Republic of China, with good reason. The country is embarking on an aggressive outreach program to shape local and global perceptions, and the country’s huge radio broadcast services are key players. Since these services are government-sponsored, listeners hear China’s Communist Party’s perspective of worldwide events as they unfold. People around the world are once again turning to shortwave radio to place themselves on the front lines.
