305 Broadcast and SCMS have entered a strategic alliance to strengthen their presence across Latin America, as both companies respond to what they describe as an increasing demand for broadcast infrastructure and services in the region.
305 Broadcast, a Miami-based company founded by Alfonso Lopez, will continue to operate as an independent commercial platform, maintaining direct client relationships. At the same time, SCMS will provide support in logistics, fulfillment and financial execution.
SCMS, a U.S.-based distributor of broadcast, media and production solutions founded in 1976, said the partnership forms part of its strategy to expand in Latin America. Matt Cauthen, vice president of SCMS, said the company sees “a strong opportunity to contribute to the region’s development” as markets continue to modernize.
According to Lopez, the collaboration will allow 305 Broadcast to access broader infrastructure and resources while maintaining its existing client relationships and regional focus.
Both companies said the alliance is intended to combine SCMS’s inventory, logistics capabilities and portfolio of manufacturers with 305 Broadcast’s market knowledge and established relationships. They added that they expect the partnership to improve access to technology, pricing and support for broadcasters in the region, as well as strengthen delivery times and technical services.
