Wheatstone’s VMX Mix Engine Platform has received a Product of the Year award at the 2026 NAB Show, with the announcement made during a ceremony at the Las Vegas Convention Center on April 22.
Wheatstone positions VMX as a centralized mix engine platform that supports multiple studios from a single system. According to Wheatstone, the approach enables a more scalable audio infrastructure by consolidating mix engine functions and dynamically allocating shared resources across a network.
Introduced at the 2026 NAB Show, the platform is paired with a line of virtual broadcast consoles that can be accessed via a web browser using HTML5. Wheatstone says this allows users to mix audio from laptops, tablets or desktop computers without the need for dedicated hardware surfaces.
The company also highlights affordability, flexibility and remote accessibility as key advantages of the platform, particularly for broadcasters looking to streamline operations across distributed environments.
The NAB Product of the Year awards are judged by a panel of industry peers, with VMX recognized in the audio production, processing and networking category from among the products exhibited at the show.
